What Color Can I Paint My Bookshelves?

Bea life! Raw North East of Romulus Bugaro

Incipit:
I start with a personal note, personal, let's say intimate, if not quite sensational, as it could be signed by an army of people.
To get right to the point I resort to music and just to Creep , old and magnificent piece of Radiohead. The refrain of the song says: What the hell am I doin 'here / I do not belong here ...
What am I doing here? I do not belong here.
It 's the feeling I have every day, always. As fatigue when it later. I could confess more, I realize. However, it is a widespread problem. It is a sense of isolation, exclusion and incompatibility (with thin veins ideological) capable of screening out of reach and making the normal lives of others and able to push in a continuous way, as a spin out.

A scathing and incisive text on the northeast, to the waste of lives devoted to consumption, money and image. Screw adapted, hopeless, closed and opaque. Here it is difficult to live for not resettled.
Bugaro describes them, these lives, without judging them openly, it highlights all aspects of how to write a clinical diary, never naming the disease. It is we who we must try to complete the diagnosis. As for therapy, just not there.
The sense of estrangement from the world of the Northeast I agree fully, aware of the accusations of snobbery, which I granted. I have never endured the localism, provincialism, and now that the Lega is the supreme embodiment of localism and provincialism. Can not read the Arena, the journal of my city, the most of the dough, I need to Republic and International. I need to escape, escape. I go on holiday in Greece or abroad, however, to exit a closed world and asphyxiated. I always envied the Tuscan and Emilian's also Mantua, perhaps idealized and mythologized. I understand very short not well-settled in this region ever more degraded as culturally and aesthetically. And, if I had not practical links here, I would change the city and region. In self-imposed exile.

The Viceroy of Federico De Roberto

Incipit:

The arc of the second courtyard affacciaronsi servants and families: Baldassarre, the master of the house, burst open the window on the second floor of the lodge, while that Salvatore Cerra precipitavasi by wheelchair with a letter in his hand.

a number of other servants already surrounded the carriage, it marked the hearing tell coachman, interrupted:
"Princess ... Death of a sudden ... This morning, while I washed the car ..."
"Jesus ... Jesus !..."

A beautiful novel that tells the story of a noble Sicilian family of English descent, the Uzeda. It's about the rivalry between the relatives of their struggle to maintain and increase wealth and power, using every possible means against the backdrop of the history of Italy during the last years of the nineteenth century. In reality it is the history and description, at least hit me in the book, the character of the Italians (not just of Sicily): the apparent lack of values, the political, religious hypocrisy, lack of scruples. Everything is told in a language sliding, without the author (based on criteria realists) to intervene and comments from the outside. The words and actions of the many characters that alternate and interact are more than enough to create a world where the lies, arrogance, hypocrisy. A totally pessimistic in which you do not save any social class, even the people who are fooled by the words and the glitter of power, in this case by the splendor of the nobility. In this sense the book is a topical (purtroppo!).

Characters:
Baldassarre : the master of the house, always faithful and ready to quell rumors of slavery, but eventually left the house, disappointed at the marriage imposed on Teresina. I'll see between the supporters of Don Raymond, in its political phase.

Angiolina : the nun of San Placido, daughter of the Princess, had to be nun with the name of Sister Mary Crucified.

Donna Graziella : Uzeda cousin's eldest son, Don James. From young cousins wanted to marry, but the will of Princess Teresa imposed on the woman's son to marry Margaret. Ever present in family events, he manages to get by, with the increasingly successful and eventually the crown his dream and James married, widowed.

Don James Uzeda : Prince of Francavlla, eldest son of Princess Theresa and Prince Consalvo, is hated by the mother who prefers the younger brother, Raymond. Eager, aggressive and superstitious, Margaret married woman wishes of the mother (see Donna Graziella). After the death of his mother, despite being the eldest son is forced to divide the inheritance with his brother Raymond. It will use any means to seize all the wealth and family in the end we will succeed. Will die of cancer, after having disowned the eldest son and appointed heir Consalvo's daughter Therese.

Don Eugenio Uzeda : brother of Princess Teresa, looks like a failure in its first initiative to have a role at the Bourbon court, then as an archaeologist and Finally, as publisher and editor of a book on the Sicilian nobility, who tries to sell to relatives. Also in poverty and ill-dressed, died without receiving any help.

Always fighting with his father, after a period of carefree youth during which the protagonist's antics with other disreputable companions, have a long trip abroad. On your return you will immerse in the books and begin the political rise, moving with the wind has managed to become first deputy mayor and then. Diserederà his father on his death for his refusal to marry and give an heir to the family.

Benedict Giulente : Lucrezia's husband, liberal, always active in the Risorgimento (wounded in the Volturno), will put his skills at the service of Don Gasapre Uzeda in the hope of becoming a Member. But it will Consalvo that will steal the coveted spot.

Uzeda inherits the whole property upon the death of his father, but then make arrangements with Consalvo for a fairer.

Radal John: "Son of the lunatic" (Duke Mario), cousin of Consalvo, whose partner was in the monastery. Intended the monastic life by his mother, who wants to promote elder brother Michael. Will be saved for the abolition of the monasteries after the unification. In love with Therese, for his brother, retired disappointed in the country. Following a severe bout of malaria, he returned to the family, takes up again and it seems the repressed love between him and his sister Therese, but it is impossible to realize his dream, commits suicide.

Always submissive to her husband, plays the role of wife and mother in silence, and eventually leaves the cousin of her husband, Donna Graziella, the role of hostess. World Country Roller Marathon Photos from

On a hot Sunday in August has been the scene of a Teolo (PD), the World Country Roller Marathon, classical landscape rottelistico summer. In the foreground at the same time, even the master Italian championships.

not very large participation by the Italian athletes for our team we had the presence of only Luca Salvioni. In one of the most beautiful in Italy for a race like this, cross-country skiers Cantù enhances his skills and qualities, and despite starting in a minor key, is able to stay in the escape of six elements that will affect the race.

After a lackluster start, Luca "builds in" their opponents, remain on the run in the last two rounds of path (set of 5). The race was decided, therefore, in the sprint, where Luca little tricky, you bottle. The fastest of the sextet, Luca Presti, won the race ahead of Roberto Conte and Giovanni Screpanti team Vitamins & Co.

Fifth place for Luke, who after the finish falls without serious consequences.

Last race of the season, with regard to race online, the next stage will involve our children in the time trial of Fanano-Sestola of 18 September.

Lime Green And Black Asics Volleyball Shoes

The traveler and the moonlight / Antal Szerb

Incipit:
train sped smoothly. The problems began in Venice with the streets. The web of streets appeared to Mihaly right and left as the boat pulled away from the dock to the bus stop and left the Grand Canal to take a shortcut. But at that moment he did not pay them much attention because its interest was totally absorbed by the "Venetian in Venice: the water through the houses, the gondolas, the lagoon, crystal clear red-pink roofs. Why Mihaly was in Italy for the first time in thirty-six, on her honeymoon.

Characters:
Mihaly : the protagonist, seems u eternal adolescent, lscia his wife during their honeymoon and began a long pilgrimage to Italy, to find himself and to recover from " nostalgia "of his teenage friends.
Erzsi : the abandoned wife of M., who moved to Paris. She also tries to rebuild itself and the purpose is found and recognized security "bourgeois" of the previous marriage with Zoltan Pataki.
Zoltan Pataki : Erzsi ex-husband, goes all out to win her back, and finally succeeds.
Tamas Ulpius : the suicide of a friend M, who has enormous influence on him. His shadow fno accompanies the final failed attempt at suicide.
Eva Ulpius : the sister of Tamas, which also M. is in love. The voyage of M. and residence in Rome are intended to find Eve and the release by his ghost, it will also free him.
Janos Szepetnek : the good friend "borderline" by M., a dishonest schemer, a strong character. And 'the opposite of M.
Ervin : jew's friend, then Catholic M. Participate in the circle of youth Ulpius and fell in love with Eva. Then a deep conversion and diveta Franciscan friar. M. he meets him in the monastery of Gubbio (Pater Severinus) and will drive him. He died of tuberculosis.
Waldheim : historian of religions, accompanied by M. for a time in his stay in Rome and speaks of death as erotic desire.
Italy (country) : it is one of the protagonists of the novel. The whole story takes place in Italy and speaks of a trip to Italy, which is typical of the intellectuals in northern Europe. In addition to Venice, there is Tuscany,? Umbria (Gubbio, Foligno), and especially Rome.

's very interesting book and the beginning of the whole story of the adolescent phase that is very addictive. Intense friendships emerge and all-encompassing, ambiguous relationships, fears, challenges that are typical of adolescence. Even a certain romance, characteristic of many juveniles. Then, in my view, the novel loses some u 'and this stage is too prolonged adolescent protagonist. There are passages of falls naive and too abrupt and not very credible. There's never a real clash between the characters and everything seems to beat softly. More exciting and realistic the final part where M. leaves his its torpor and the banality of the real (baptism, ubriacaura with the Italians) appears to save him from his underground world. Interesting
Italy Mihali of goggle-eye view, very different from an Italian: it seems, because of its power to enchant, a village east, mysterious, exotic location.

Wisdom Teeth Hematoma .

WIC WIC - Bern

Orphans of Richard, Emma and Andrew the CC-Team finds herself with half of the formation of the starting blocks. Spectacular setting of the public as well as the organization of the event that finally sees the boys run through the streets of a "real" downtown. Many, but not many participants in the street, sees that as usual the best athletes in Europe for the title.

It starts as usual very strong today, even if the path does not allow waste precious energy, so is the climb to be addressed and be addressed to the street circuit nine times leaving no escape. From the beginning we see the group placed in the belly of our children, and over the course of the group tours will become increasingly more numerous fact during the competition. Unfortunately, unless

three laps from the end it's up to Luke to raise the white flag, too much effort to bring "under the group" they cut your breath and legs. Meanwhile, Stephen is forced to lower the sails, even for him the race is too tiring.

Fabrizio resists and remains clinging to the nail in the lead group, less than one even tries to go on the run and he also manages to stay there for a couple of kilometers. When you start the climb the group goes back down and now exhausted Fabrizio was forced to sprint. That will end the twenty-fourth preparation and having the time of year is not exactly a bad result!

Guerrilla art: when you are forced to live art

Forces you to look for the roads, on road signs, in the walls of your city. Not talking about graffiti, sketches on the walls, the colors smear just our city: we talk about guerrilla art, the "urban guerrilla art." Art is for everyone, not just those who can afford it, and then proponiamola all, let's see! Paintings on the walls of houses, colorful stripes on the street instead of those horrible white lines, road signs changed. Force us to look at and to be honest, the thing I like.
Art has always been confined to art galleries, a few, some character that you can afford to go to the Venice Biennale. We mere mortals we must not look at art, we are not able to understand it. So the artist who does "guerrilla" art leaves us with a picture there in the square, just as we are passing, or a work draws on a wall, right in the space that we see every morning when we go to work.
It is not more to choose whether we want to see art or not: will slam in your face, as the TV advertising.
I just say one thing: I want to do, I want to make sure that my art can be distributed "by force" at least in Italy.
For the rest of the world then we'll see

Anybody Have Bad Side Effects On Avloclor?

IIC 2010: Italian Inline Cup

It starts early in the morning to reach Vicenza, home to the third round of the Italian Inline Cup 2010. The team is complete with the exception of the winner of the last test the Italian track, Serena Emanuel, personal commitments that could not be present at the festival in Vicenza. In a circuit

"new" in its kind, we have witnessed a race full of little surprises. In practice the only excitement was provided by Gherardi team Vitamins & Co. that three laps to take the posting by the group and solo concludes the race.

For our association instead placed at the seventh Andrea, who with this position, consolidating its leadership in the overall standings and heads for the final podium. Certainly for the next two races he will be our man standings.

We still have about a month of preparation before facing the fourth stage of IIC, scheduled for September 12 in Senigallia (AN). Meanwhile, the CC-Team will be in Bern, Switzerland to attend the second and final stage of the SIC, which as usual is also a stage of World Inline Cup (Top Class).

We can only await the outcome of the August 8 before going on holiday and enjoy a well earned rest ... :-)

How Long Does Trimethoprim Live Sell By

After many summers / Aldous Huxley

I bought this book in an antiquarian bookshop, being unavailable in the libraries close. It was the book cited by the protagonist of the film "A Single Man" Tom Ford. For some reason struck me. Me are procured and are not repentant.

Incipit:
had established all by telegram: Jeremiah Pordage supposed to find a black driver in gray uniform with a pink cap, black driver had to look for a middle-aged English leading in the hands of the poetic works of Wordsworth. Although the station was crowded, they found themselves without difficulty.
"The driver of Mr. Stoyte?"
"Mr. Pordage"
Jeremiah nodded and, with Wordsworth in his hand and an umbrella in the other, a little stretched his arms, a gesture of pleading dummy, which esibisse, humorous and with full awareness of its defects, a paltry figure, accentuated by one of the most ridiculous clothes. "Here I am" seemed to say "here I am, poor thing, but as I am." The decrease as a defensive measure and as it prophylactically, had become a habit for him. "

The novel is set in Los Angeles, referring to Beverly Hills (translated here as" Beverly Hills ") and Hollywood . begins with the arrival in Los Angeles Pordage of Jeremiah, an English scholar at the invitation of a wealthy tycoon, Beppe Stoyte, to file an older archive of a noble English family.
Beppe Stoyte really is not interested culture. It only serves to show its enormous wealth. He lives in a kind of castle (which Pordage calls the "Subject" and that inspired the movie Citizen Kane in the Orson Wells), full of works of art (even a Vermeer in the elevator). Beppe - Joseph better (but here the names are all Italianized this old translation) - is obsessed with death and the victim is unaware of his medical adviser, Dr. Obispo, which exploits the fear of the magnet to extract money and to do research on longevity. For his experiments studying the carp that live hundreds of years, in order to discover their secret and use the results to increase the human lifespan. Obispo advantage of its influence on Stoyte to flirt with his girl lover, Virginia, a girl easily corrupt, despite its superficial faith in the Madonna. Obispo's research on the longevity of the carp will confirm in the maps consulted by Pordage, particularly in the diary of an old English nobleman who talks about his experience and the discovery of the vital power obtained by eating the intestines of this fish.
Other characters, not secondary, are Pete, the innocent victim of jealousy Slyte and propter, the philosopher who lives in a simple and independent. These are the conversations between Pete and propter, and above all the long speeches propter walking the novel in part philosophical. The philosophy is a propter true Stoic philosophy: "liberation from the personality, liberation from time and desire, freedom in union with God." In particular - and this is the most interesting part - the struggle to affirm the ideals, according propter, is nothing but a form, even more dangerous, affirmation of the ego.
"The sacrifice of oneself to a cause that is not the highest is the sacrifice to an ideal, which is simply a projection of the ego"
propter see that evil pervades the world and seems to suggest a place "no commitment" of limited action, without presuming to impose good. At the end of the novel it seems the bad outweighs the good: there is murder is not punished and that the guilty get away. But propter would say that this is irrelevant: the evil part of man, and as long as man fails to state the plan of the animal and that of spirituality (as opposed to the plan of humanity), there will be nothing to do and Pete's death, in general terms of human life she is just an accident.

The text is very fluid, with some slowness in the "philosophical". Beautiful letter which Jeremiah wrote to his mother, which gives us an interesting picture of the Oedipal relationship, accepting and aware, indeed proudly claimed (Part II, chap. 1). Carry only the final of the letter, but would be worth the pana to read it all:
"Well, I have nothing to say, as I used to write when I was in school - and in large print, remember? in an effort to make the words fill a half page notebook. I have nothing else to say except, of course, the unspeakable, and what I leave unsaid because you already know. "
It 's a nice phrase for this concluding note.

What To Write On Hairdressing Leaflets

Grows Older by Italo Svevo

Incipit:
"Now, with the first words that gave her, wanted to let you know that do not intend to compromise in a relationship too seriously. He talked about that very nearly so: - I love you very much and wish for your sake you agree to move us very cautious. - The word was so cautious that it was difficult to believe that for the sake of others, and a little 'more honest would have to play like this: - I like a lot, but in my life you can not ever be more important than a toy. I have other duties, my career, my family, "

Characters:
Henry Brentani : the protagonist, would want to live a simple adventure with Angie, thinking rationally control the story and, instead, he is deceiving others and, above all, himself. His is a story of lies and self delusions. And 'he' s "murderess" Amelia's sister?
Angiolina : a simple girl who tells lies, but in the end, it also seems the most authentic character in the sense that at least does not deceive herself. It 's always seen through the eyes of others or the friend of Henry or Stephen or others who report what he does. E 'Henry wants to see that different from what is and "build" and that in the end becomes a perfect symbol: Angie, in reality, life, youth, freedom that Henry would have, without success, because never is willing to stake his monotonous white-collar life.
Amelia: the sister of Henry, a "strangled life", "born gray, unwittingly involved in the affair of his brother, who neglects his adventure to live with Angie. She also lives a kind of "adventure" imaginary, during the delirium of illness when she imagines her marriage to Stephen, a friend of the sculptor Henry. A walk with Stephen and his brother is the only time life of this character, who dies tragically, bringing with him the secret that is the cause of the disease.
Stefano Baldi : the artist a bit 'failed, a friend of Henry: But is it really a friend? O prevails in him the desire to dominate, to excel, like when going out in company with Emilio, Angie and Julia, wants to show his strength, his ability to dominate women, humiliating Henry appears, however, weak and inept .

The word "incompetence" to life is one that best expresses the character of the characters and featuring the novel: not so much ineptitude as an inability to confront and overcome tragic events, but simply as an inability to express their feelings in an authentic manner and to oppose the mysterious force that seems to force them to live in lies and deception in the car (shown here a clear reference to the "will" of Schopenhauer).

L ' Spinoza's heresy / Steven Nadler

L ' heresy of Spinoza. Immortality and the spirit Jewish Steven Nadler. Turin: Einaudi, c2005

Incipit:
It 'a beautiful mystery. In 1656, Bento de Spinoza was twenty-three. He was a scion of a family having enough but not too rich, the Sephardic community of Amsterdam ... He had great intellectual gifts that were certainly not gone unnoticed in the eyes of the rabbis. Perhaps Baruch (the name means, in both Hebrew and Portuguese, "blessed") was actually destined for a career as a rabbi. At seventeen, however, was forced to interrupt their studies. His older brother, Isaac, was in fact died in the meantime, which forced the young Bento to deal with family affairs, engaged in commercial activities. Within a few years, at the end of 1654, when the father died, Spinoza found himself at the helm of family business ... Then July 27, 1656 ... The following proclamation was read in Hebrew, before the ark of the Torah, the synagogue nell'affollatissima dell'Houtgracht:

I Senhores but the 'amad a long time the opinions and the evil deeds of Baruch de Spinoza, have tried in various ways and with different promises to get him back on track. But having failed to correct it in any way and vice versa continues to receive daily information based on the abominable heresies which he has done and taught, as well as its monstrous acts, and having many credible witnesses ... have decided ... that the said Espinoza is excommunicated and expelled from the people of Israel. Decree on the order of angels and saints, we excommunicate, expel, curse and damn Baruch de Espinoza ... he is damn damn day and night, cursed and damned if you lie down when he gets up, cursed and cursed when it comes out when he returns. The Lord will not spare the contrary, the anger of the Lord and his jealousy to beat upon this man, and all the curses written in this book [the Torah] will hang on him, and the Lord will erase his name from under heaven. The Lord depart with all the evil from the tribes of Israel, in obedience to all the curses written in this book of the law "

The book tries to answer the question of why Spinoza was proclaimed to a Cherem (contract) so hard, the hardest ever issued by the rabbis of the Jewish community of Amsterdam. It discusses the philosophical positions of Spinoza, in relation to works written by the rabbis of religious Amsterdam, the production of Maimonides and Gersonides, the most influential Jewish philosophers. The key point that emerges and explains that, in light of the arguments of the author, the hardness of Cherem , is the question of the immortality of the soul and its survival after death, definitely denied by Spinoza. This denial, although in a different context could be tolerated, as it is not part of the dogmas of the Jewish religion, in particular political situation of Dutch Jews who fled persecution in Spain, many of them former conversos ( ex forcibly converted to Catholicism) and, therefore, timorosi di scontentare le autorità olandesi, apparve scandalosa e intollerabile.
Oltre a negare la paternità mosaica del Pentateuco, oltre a sostenere che Dio esiste only in a philosophical sense, Spinoza denied the immortality of the soul. And the Jews of the seventeenth century Amsterdam was not the place to do it. "
Interesting also pp. 178-185 on the use of hope and fear on the part of religious institutions (as well as political ones) to control and keep at bay the faithful and subjects.

Why Do Brazilians Look Gray

Pale Fire Vladimir Nabokov

Incipit:
Pale Fire, a poem in heroic couplets are nine hundred ninety-nine verses, divided into four quarters, was written by John Francis Shade (born July 5, 1898 and died on 21 July 1959) during the last twenty days of life, at her home in New Wye, Appalachia, USA. The manuscript, almost entirely a fair copy from which this feature has been faithfully printed text. consists of eighty cards medium size ....

looks like a beginning of a boring book, written by a professor "trombone" picky, but, in reality, the second reading (which I consider essential) everything looks wonderful and exciting, a challenge that gladdens the heart and brain.
called a "metaromanzo" is actually composed of four works that require jumping, hard (but worth it!) From one page another.
The first work is the Preface, signed by Charles Kimbote, a character in the novel turns out to have been the king of Zembla, who fled from their land so daring. But perhaps it could be hiding behind Kimbote other identity than the king of Zembla, Professor Botkin (an anagram of Kimbote), a madman, or the same Shade pretending to be other than the author of the poem, and the commentator also prefacer .

The second work is the poem "Pale Fire", in four quarters, beginning:

I was the shadow of the waxwing slain
by the false azure in the glass:
was the thick smoke of burnt hair - and I
I lived, I was flying in the sky reflected.
And from then I would duplicate
myself ...

I the poem speaks of the life of Shade (shadow), the love for his wife Sybil (hated by Kimbote), the suicide of her daughter.

The third work and commentary of Kimbote, which occupies most of the pages of the book. It appears as commentary on the poem, but it is the vision of a disappointment and sometimes polemical commentator who is expected to have influenced their stories with the poetry of Shade, but realizes that the work speaks to the contrary.
Kimbote and she takes it in the comments, eg about most of the history of the King of Zembla (ie himself), his imprisonment after the Revolution extremist, his escape into the mountains, the attempt to an assassin (Gradus) to kill the king, after a long search to find him.
I main characters of the novel are thus John Shade (the poet admired by Kimbote maybe that will be killed by mistake by Gradus), Kimbote (former King of Zembla) and Gradus: their stories are at the heart of the book that fit or, better, confused. Kimbote trying to find hints in the poem to its history, but emerge clearly ridiculous forcing. Here lies also the satire of Nabokov commentators who would force the writers and take them on roads outside LRO.
In Nabokov's beautiful writing notes emerge often ironic and satirical, sometimes subtle, sometimes tough, but especially his ability to make clear the central small details, the small objects. His writing is a "Photo" and his favorite target and the "macro", which enlarges and distorts the details and, thus, makes them fascinating, sometimes disturbing.

last part is the index that summarizes the issues and references to various characters and places in which it highlights another key aspect of Nabokov's writing : love for language, a penchant for puns, offsets etymological. Among the other important characters in addition to those already mentioned, there Disa, the sad queen, wife of Charles II, the Beloved King of Zembla and also the country of Zembla, completely invented, with its mountains, castles, city assumes the role of character.

Pr give an idea of the things that fascinated me in reading this and have rewarded the hard work and patience, it is useful to point out some steps. In this step, Kimbote tells the story of his taking possession of the house, rented by Judge Goldsworth, near the villa of the poet Shade:

Judge Goldsworth had a wife and four daughters; portraits family welcomed me in the hall, then persecuting them from room to room and although I am convinced that Alphina (9), Betty (10), Candida (12) and Dee (14) [note the alphabetical order of names!] will become shortly by schoolgirls horribly pretty young ladies in elegant and excellent mothers, I must confess that their naughty pictures irritated me to such a degree that eventually picked them up one by one and threw it all in a closet, neatly lined up in the forms of their winter clothes wrapped in cellophane shrouds [this is not a photograph?] ... What surprised me was that he was very, instructed my landlord, to lead the house, and "his lady". Besides me find a detailed inventory of all those objects, who gather around a new tenant as a tumultuous crowd of menacing natives, had given the enchanting worth writing about pieces of paper recommendations, explanations, and lists additional orders. Whatever I touch, that first day of stay in the house, provided a premium of Goldsworthiana. I turned the key cabinet of Medicines of the second bathroom, and there fluttering out a message that the collector of razor blades was too full and you could not use, I opened the refrigerator, and one with a bark, beware of me 'introduce "National specialty whose smell is hard to eliminate" I opened the middle drawer of the desk in the study. and found a catalog raisonné of his poor content, which included a number of ashtrays, a letter opener damascened ... un'agendina pocket and old and never used, who was there. to mature, optimistic expectations that recurrence of the matches due calendaring. In the pantry, a panel designated for the purpose, ra communications detailed instructions to hydraulic, electrical disquisitions, dissertations, papers and so on, I found the diet of the new cat in the house included:
Mon ., Wed., Fri.: liver
Tues, Thurs., Sat.: fish
Sun: ground beef
... But perhaps the most ridiculous statement concerned the handling of window curtains, which were closed essre differently depending on time of day so the sun does not posasse upholstery on the sofas and armchairs. for each of the many windows were provided a description of the position of the sun, both daily and seasonal, and if I had never taken account of that story, I was engaged as a sailor in a race. However, a postscript Geneose suggested that, rather than to hoist and lower the curtains, maybe I would have preferred to move back and forth out of the reach of the sun, the most valuable mobile ... I can not, alas, we report here the meticulous program of travel, but I think I should do before going to bed to castle long and short castling in the morning, first thing "

How ironic and how many "objects" loved and photographed, which seem to have a life and soul.

I also suggest you read the beautiful passage on suicide, on which system is preferable to avoid unnecessary and ridiculous attempts to pages 215-218 (Adelphi edition)

In conclusion, it is a "book-mine", because c 'is much material to be excavated and you can always find a new trend. Congratulations to the translators who have accepted a great challenge but fascinating,

Being a "book-mine", there have been many "digs", especially in English. Li the following:

Bobby Jack Birthday Supplies

No one beside me / Nadine Gordimer

Incipit:

"And who was it?" There is always someone who no one remembers. In the photographs of the group only those who have become famous, for better or worse, or faces that can be remembered through common experiences, they occupy space and time flattened on glossy paper. Who could it be? hands dangling, feet lined up for the camera, smile, profile facing to the character that was to become the center of the captured moment, the only developed image with greater intensity, and the margins of this focal point is an appendix, which could also be cut out why, in recognition and memory in particular that it conveys the photograph, the figure has never been this device. But if it was someone and acknowledge the person who no one remembers, right now would develop another reading of the photograph. There would be immediately something else, some other meaning, namely the presence of what has been accepted over time. Something secret, perhaps, read it absent-mindedly ".

The book tells the story of two couples, Vera Stark and her husband Ben, a white couple, and Sibongile and Didymus Maqoma, blacks in apartheid South Africa in the transition from the racist regime that began with the release of Mandela. In fact, the central character is that of Vera. It 's you who do not want anyone to his side: an independent woman, free, open sexually that seems to live only for his political commitment. It reminds me of the "militancy" of sessantottino, in which there was room for family, love, everyday life, but only for politics, lived day per day, along with sex. Overall, there is a book that I did not like, where are predominantly psychological introspection. I have not seen any drama about the events and the history of South Africa, which is seen from the perspective of the few small militant protagonists. There are also bloody episodes, but seem to flow quite gently, without much involvement. Finally, the writing is complicated and sometimes convoluted and often incomprehensible dialogue.

There is a passage that I liked a lot. It 's a part of speech of a delegate to a congress of the victorious party, which begins properly deal with the compromises of power

" We have made many compromises with the past. We have swallowed many things unworthy. We have established relationships that we never imagined possible or necessary ... But if we really want to serve our people, if we convince him, in every cabin or camp, with the cross that marks where a piece of paper in our first elections single-member constituencies has a real chance to be led and represented by men and women honest, not seeking power for sleep between silk sheets, to make large salaries, to corrupt and be corrupted, to appropriate money and to protect others who steal, to dispel the secret funds of public money with contracts that will never be realized, if we ask our people to give confidence to a new constitution, we must first publicly expose our lives to ensure their integrity, we swear here and now, was confirmed by a constitution that we never will share with the power that has divided the former regime. ... We will not pay the private aircraft that carry our ministers abroad, will not pay the hotel bills pr their families and their lovers, we will not give appanages members of parliament to drive their Mercedes, do not hide under the label "top secret" expenditure of public money, that the general public should not know. We must not say to our people: no lying, no cheating, no stealing ...

A page in which shines the beauty of politics.
